A Turnover Certificate is a formal document issued by a practising Chartered Accountant (CA) on his / her letterhead, certifying the turnover (revenue from operations / sales) of a business for a specified period — typically the last 1, 3, or 5 financial years, or a custom period required by the requesting authority. It is one of the most frequently asked CA certificates in India, used as a primary financial-eligibility filter by tender authorities, banks, regulators, and government schemes.
Turnover is computed in line with Schedule III of the Companies Act 2013, applicable Ind-AS / AS for revenue recognition, and reconciled with GST returns (GSTR-1 / 3B / 9), 26AS / AIS, and audited financial statements. The certificate must carry a UDIN generated on the ICAI portal — only then is it accepted by tender portals (GeM, CPPP), banks (SBI / HDFC / ICICI), and regulators (RBI / SEBI / DGFT). Our CA-certified Turnover Certificate services cover same-day to 3-day delivery for all entity types — proprietorships, partnerships, LLPs, private and public companies — for tender, loan, MSME, GST, subsidy, and diligence purposes.
Most common use-case — government / PSU / private tender bidding requiring last 3 / 5 / 7 years' turnover, in tender-prescribed format (GeM / CPPP / GFR / e-procurement).
Working capital, term loan, OD / CC limit, MSME loan, LAP — banks require year-wise turnover certified by CA, often reconciled with GSTR and audited financials.
For Udyam registration, classification (Micro / Small / Medium), Sec 43B(h) MSME-buyer-payment compliance, MSME Samadhaan, and TReDS onboarding.
Aggregate turnover certificate for GST registration, composition-scheme eligibility, e-invoicing trigger (₹5 cr), e-way bill, and GSTR-9 / 9C threshold checks.
State / central capital subsidy, CGTMSE, PMEGP, Stand-Up India, ECLGS, export-promotion-council schemes — requiring CA-certified turnover for eligibility.
For DGFT — RCMC, RoDTEP, Advance Authorisation, EPCG, SEIS — and FOB-value export turnover certification for incentive claims and customs filings.
VC / PE / lender / acquirer-grade turnover certificate — gross / net / segment / customer-concentration, trend analysis, and consistency with audited financials.
Pre-IPO / SME-IPO / listing-related turnover certification — restated figures, segment reporting (Ind-AS 108), and reconciliation with restated financials.
Aggregate value of realisations from sale, supply, or distribution of goods / services / both, excluding GST and other indirect taxes — basis Schedule III and Ind-AS 115 / AS 9.
Unique Document Identification Number generated on the ICAI portal — verifies the certificate's authenticity to tender portals, banks, and authorities; without UDIN the certificate is invalid.
Books-vs-GSTR turnover reconciliation — outward supplies from GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9 reconciled with the books to ensure consistency before certification.
₹1 cr business turnover (₹10 cr if cash transactions ≤ 5%), ₹50 lakh professional gross receipts — turnover certificate often used to evidence threshold for tax-audit applicability.
Sum of all taxable, exempt, export, and inter-state supplies — on PAN basis — used for GST registration trigger (₹40 / ₹20 lakh), composition limits, and e-invoicing thresholds.
e-Invoicing mandatory once aggregate turnover crosses ₹5 cr in any preceding FY since 2017-18 — turnover certificate often serves as documentary evidence of trigger (or non-trigger).
Each tender authority prescribes its own format — number of years, similar-work turnover, average annual turnover, and exclusion of intra-group / non-recurring revenues.
Certificate must be on the CA's printed letterhead with name, membership number, FRN (firm reg. no.), UDIN, place, date, signature, and stamp — mandatory for acceptance.
Year-wise turnover for last 3 / 5 / 7 FY in tender-prescribed format — GeM, CPPP, GFR, PSU / state / central / private RFP — UDIN-backed and reconciliation-supported.
Tender-specific similar-work turnover (e.g., last 7 years, 3 of last 5) — segregated by similar contracts, customer category, or scope to satisfy the tender's specific eligibility filter.
