MSME Registration Services in India – Udyam Registration, MSMED Act 2006 Compliance, Section 43B(h) 45-Day Payment Rule, CGTMSE & PMEGP Scheme Advisory

MSME registration — now consolidated under Udyam Registration via the Government of India's udyamregistration.gov.in portal — is the single most valuable certification a small or medium business in India can hold. Backed by the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act 2006, Udyam Registration unlocks priority sector lending, collateral-free credit under CGTMSE, subsidies under PMEGP, CLCSS, and ZED, statutory protection of payment timelines under Section 15-24 of the MSMED Act, public procurement preference under the MSE Procurement Policy 2012, electricity bill priorities, ISO certification reimbursement, and crucially — eligibility for the Section 43B(h) 45-day payment rule introduced via Finance Act 2023, which forces buyers to pay registered MSEs within statutory timelines or lose income-tax deduction.

Our MSME registration services handle Udyam Registration end-to-end for proprietorships, partnerships, LLPs, private limited companies, OPCs, co-operatives, HUFs, trusts, and societies — across Micro, Small, and Medium categories under the revised composite criteria (investment in plant & machinery / equipment + annual turnover). We deliver Udyam Registration / Re-registration, Udyam Assist Platform (UAP) registration for informal micro-enterprises, sector-specific NIC code mapping, scheme-eligibility assessment, CGTMSE credit-guarantee facilitation, MSME Samadhaan filing for delayed payments, TReDS onboarding for invoice discounting, Section 43B(h) compliance design for both buyers and MSE sellers, ZED certification support, GeM onboarding, public-procurement bid support, MSME Champions Scheme advisory, ISO / BIS reimbursement claims, and ongoing annual update of investment / turnover data on the Udyam portal — ensuring continuity of MSME benefits across financial years.

FAQs on MSME Registration

What is Udyam Registration and who needs it?
Udyam Registration is the unified online MSME registration on udyamregistration.gov.in introduced from 1 July 2020, replacing earlier EM-II and UAM registrations. Any manufacturing or service enterprise — proprietorship, partnership, LLP, company, OPC, HUF, trust, society — wanting MSME benefits must register under Udyam.
What are the current MSME classification limits?
Effective 1 April 2025, the revised limits are: Micro — investment up to ₹2.5 Cr and turnover up to ₹10 Cr; Small — up to ₹25 Cr and ₹100 Cr; Medium — up to ₹125 Cr and ₹500 Cr. Both criteria (investment and turnover) must be satisfied to qualify for a category.
What is the Sec 43B(h) 45-day payment rule?
Section 43B(h), inserted by Finance Act 2023, disallows income-tax deduction to a buyer for any sum payable to a Micro or Small Enterprise beyond the timeline specified in MSMED Act (15 days without agreement, 45 days with agreement) — until actually paid.
Are traders eligible for Udyam Registration?
Wholesale and retail traders can register under Udyam since 2 July 2021 — but only for the limited purpose of priority sector lending classification. Most MSME scheme benefits remain restricted to manufacturing and service enterprises.
What is CGTMSE and what does it cover?
CGTMSE (Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro & Small Enterprises) provides collateral-free / third-party-guarantee-free credit guarantee cover up to ₹5 crore for term loans and working capital extended by participating lenders to MSEs.
How long does Udyam Registration take?
Udyam Registration is typically completed in 1–3 working days from receipt of complete documents. The Udyam certificate is issued online with a permanent Udyam Registration Number (URN) and a downloadable QR-coded PDF.
Is Udyam registration fee chargeable by the government?
No. Udyam Registration on the official portal udyamregistration.gov.in is completely free of cost. Beware of fraudulent third-party portals charging fees in the name of "MSME registration" — only the government Udyam portal is authoritative.
